Stand Up Day 2010 - Video Contest

A CHANCE FOR YOUR SCHOOL TO WIN $300 IN CASH!!


Make a 1 – 2 minute video about bullying.
(Do it yourself, or get together with your friends or school group.)
Every video will be entered in a draw for $300 for their school!

Open to Junior High and High School Students

Here are some ideas about what you can include in your video:

  • How you can step in and stand up to people who bully
  • How to provide support to victims
  • How to help people who bully
  • How to deal with cyber violence
  • The role that bystanders have in bullying
  • The effects of bullying – on the bully, on the victim, on bystanders, on your school.

Prizes:

  • Three top prizes of $100 each
  • Every video will be entered in a draw for $300 for their school

How to submit:

  • Videos should be between 1 – 2 minutes each
  • All content must be appropriate and without offensive language
  • Preferred formatting for video submission is .wmv (.avi format will be accepted)
  • Save videos at highest resolution possible (minimum of 320 x 240 pixels)
  • Burn onto a CD
  • Do not add video effects or overlay music to videos
  • Include your name, age, grade, and the name of your school
  • Send to Eastern Region Committee Against Violence, Suite 304, 105 Manitoba Dr, Clarenville, NL, A5A 1K2 by February 8th, 2010. Entries must be postmarked by midnight on this date.
  • On-line or late entries will not be accepted.

Important:

By submitting the videos, contestants and schools give permission for the video to be used in current and future publicity and educational material.
